One of the promising trends of the network development is a multiservice networking.
multiservice communication network – is a multifunctional multipurpose environment, which serves to the speech, image and data transmission, using the Packet switching technology. As a result, this unified infrastructure serves for data transfer of very different formats. Technically, multiservice network is a network equipment set, which allows to arrange an interaction of the termination devices of the corporate network between themselves.

This approach allows to reduce greatly a number of the communication channels, and, as a result, to reduce costs for the development and support  of the network infrastructure.

The active networking equipment by a leading global producer – a company Cisco Systems is used by development of the multiservice network projects.

multiservice data transfer network is the efficient solution of creatin of the corporate infrastructure, which simplifies the implementation of the new business applications and can be adjusted to the ever-changing requerements at the expence of scalability and intellectual adaptability.

A multiservice network can be devided into 3 levels:

  1. Network core level – assures a maximally possible data-transmission rate between the network parts, and forms a system of the highway links, and is maximally risk-free and fault-tolerant.
  2. Distribution level – assures the aggregation of the traffic characteristics, access policy to the highway and tools for fault-tolerance for the access level.
  3. Access level – assures the direct network connection and classification of the connection points.

  • Monitoring and infrastructure; management systems.

Structured Cabling System (SCS)

Structured Cabling System (SCS) – is a basis of the enterprise information infrastructure, which allows to bring into the unified system the a large quantity of the information services of different purpose: local area and telephone networks, safety systems, video control systems etc.

SCS is a hierarchical cable system of the building or complex, devided into the subsystems. It consists of the set of the copper and optical fiber cables, patchpanels, patchcords, cable connectors, modular jacks, informational receptacles and auxiliary equipment. All these listed elements are integrated into the unified system and are used according to the special rules.

There are 3 working main standards in the field of SCS:

  • EIA/TIA-568В Commercial Building Telecommunications Wiring Standard (USA Standard);
  • ISO/IEC IS 11801 Information Technology. Generic cabling for customer premises (international standard);
  • CENELEC EN 50173 Information Technology. Generic cabling systems (European Standard).

Technical level of the hardware components, determined by the working standards, assures the performance capability of the installed cable system and support of the existing and future application operation over the period of 10 years as minimum.
